Guided tours

You can visit the exhibition using the audio tour. You can also join one of the regular guided tours. There are three different tours. One of the tours deals with the economy and the role of De Nederlandsche Bank. You will go through the vault experience, play the games and learn more about the tasks of De Nederlandsche Bank. There is also a tour of the 40 works of art in the exhibition, which reveals the stories behind them. And there is a tour to introduce you to the more than 400 special objects from the money collection.The curator will tell you about the objects’ hidden stories and special details.

The vault experience  

Explore the facility where the nation’s gold was once kept. And experience the unique audio-visual sensation of the magic of gold.

Spoiler alert: there is no more gold in the vault. All the gold has been moved to a high-security compound near the town of Zeist. 

City garden and waterfront terrace

Need to escape the hustle and bustle of the city? Come to the city garden on the grounds of De Nederlandsche Bank. You’ll find the entrance at Westeinde. Find a quiet spot among the greenery and sculptures. Or relax on the waterfront terrace and watch the world go by.

Studying or reading

Looking for a quiet place to study or read the newspaper indoors? The reading tables offer plenty of space for quiet study or for enjoying a refreshment on weekdays from 9:00 - 17:00.
