Artist Talk with Puck Verkade

Art, Motherhood, and Ecological Interdependence

Date: 7 November
Time: 16:00 - 17:30

In this artist talk, Puck Verkade will share the motivations behind her artistic practice and the development of her exhibition Uprooted. Her work explores themes such as matrescence—the transition into motherhood—and ecological interdependence, while also reflecting on the collaborative process between artist and curator.

Following her talk, Verkade will be joined in conversation by Rosanna van Mierlo, curator of the art collection of De Nederlandsche Bank, and Heske ten Cate, curator, researcher, and co-curator of the exhibition Good Mom/Bad Mom(Centraal Museum Utrecht). Together, they will reflect on the intersections between art, motherhood, and historical as well as contemporary perspectives on care and ecology.

The exhibition Uprooted is on view until 13 February 2026 at De Nieuwe Schatkamer of De Nederlandsche Bank.
